Leather Shears definitely serve a purpose, but lately, I've been addicted to my rotary cutter! As most of y'all know my leather training has been very traditional so far (nothing wrong with that, I love you Ray), although, I'm loving the new tools I am discovering nowadays!
When it comes to cutting leather here are a few benefits to the rotary cutter vs. leather shears:
1. I can cut for extended periods of time without hurting my hand. My leather shears get to me after awhile and I'm not a fan of pain.
2. It is by far easier to use because it fits in my little female hand better than the shears ever did. (I have no doubt that this was probably the reason for the pain! LOL)
3. But most importantly, the rotary cutter cuts a much cleaner line because it's one fluid motion with no breaks in between. It truly helps with making products you wish to sell, look much nicer!
The rotary cutter I use is just one of the heavier duty versions from Michaels. It seems to work very well for every weight of leather I use. I've never had a issue with it!
Again, addicted! #teamrotarycutter
